CREATING THE FUTURE
Since its formation, Bienestar’s mission has been to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. We have always understood that to eliminate the HIV epidemic, we need to provide education, information and services to vulnerable and marginalized communities, especially those most at risk of being infected and people currently living with HIV. However, we have also understood that the key to our efforts is advancing human rights and economic and social equalities for all.
Bienestar creates opportunities to develop, mobilize and empower the populations we serve in order to promote health, reduce stigmas and discrimination, advocate for policies that eradicate health disparities and promote justice and wellbeing.
To be successful in our efforts, Bienestar follows a strategic and comprehensive approach that builds organizational capacity, leadership and external collaborations. We develop strategic partnerships with affected communities, public entities, educational institutions, scientific communities, philanthropists and other community organizations to achieve wellness and self-determination for all.

Act Against AIDS (AAA) is an initiative launched by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to combat complacency about HIV and AIDS in the United States. Launched in 2009, Act Against AIDS focuses on raising awareness among all Americans and reducing the risk of infection among the most affected communities – gay and bisexual men, African Americans, Latinos, and other populations at increased risk.

Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U) is a growing international campaign that is aimed at ending the epidemics of HIV and HIV-related stigma by empowering people with accurate and meaningful information. Overwhelming research confirms that when a person living with HIV is on effective treatment, it will reduce the level of HIV to "undetectable" levels which protects their health and makes them incapable of transmitting HIV to their sexual partners, or what we call Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U). As a prevention strategy, this is often referred to as Treatment as Prevention.
The Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U) message is an unprecedented opportunity to transform the lives of millions of people with and affected by HIV and to radically transform the field.
